This embroidery tells the most widely accepted version of this person’s tale.
Although we know the circumstances of the battle between Henry VI and Hotspur we have no way of knowing which side this person supported – as such it was a very deliberate decision to not include any insignia on the armour. The creatures on the borders are modelled on the coats of arms of the opposing sides.
